Praying for miracles and having a lot of faith!

Hello everyone! So I cannot believe that a month has already come and gone! Time out here seriously flies by! I have already been lucky enough to give a talk and teach priesthood in the ward that I go to.....hopefully that doesn't happen again anytime soon haha. But the members out here are great! They are so helpful and willing to do anything for us, and they keep us fed pretty much every night of the week. We had an exchange and one of the "traveling missionaries" Elder Klima came out and helped us get a better idea of how to teach using the new teaching method. We have been so busy this week now that we are doing shorter more frequent lessons. I feel like they are so much more powerful and helpful too. We have also been praying for miracles and having a lot of faith to expect them to happen. We picked up 4 new investigators this week and I know it is because of those faith and prayers that heavenly father has put those people in our path. One of our investigators, Bill, is a farmer and we are going to help him load and unload hay sometime this week so that should be fun. Another person that we picked up is chuck. He is an older guy and kind of reminds me of Jeremy......just a few minor differences. The first time we taught him he was so completely closed off to the idea of becoming converted. Now, after meeting with him a few more times and teaching more about the Book of Mormon and where it came from, you can tell that his heart is starting to change because he has been able to feel the spirit. I am so excited to meet with him more as he continues to read the Book of Mormon. everything is going really good. It has rained here almost every day since I've been here, thank goodness. I literally to 0 pictures this week....oops. but I love and miss you all.

Knocking on a lot of doors

Driving out to Camden

Brother Grinell gave us bear meat
Hello Everyone! This week has been a great week! We have knocked on a lot of doors just trying to find new people to teach. It is hard when everyone around is extremely Catholic, but we have still found a few. I'm happy to hear that dad is doing good. To bad I can't ask to take the boat out while he is on drugs.....maybe he would say yes haha. I was getting pretty worried about him, just not knowing what was going on. It's amazing the feelings of comfort we can get from the holy ghost though prayer and fasting. I never would have

My Companion
thought that I would have given up food on any other day but fast Sunday ha ha but I had a little personal fast for him on Thursday. I feel like it helped me more than anything but it sounds like it worked for him too. I had to give a talk in church on the power of prayer and how we can make them better. It was the perfect thing to speak on with all of the things that had been going on with Tyce and Dad. My testimony on the power of prayer has already grown 1000%. I'll be sending some pictures today to....I am awful at remembering to take them so there aren't that many so I'll try and work on that. I love and miss you all.

Absolutely the hottest thing I have ever eaten or will ever eat in my entire life!

I have officially made it to New York!

My District at the MTC
Hello everyone! I have officially made it to New York! It is so flat here.....not even little hills, but it is so pretty and super green. The leaves are already starting to change colors and everyone says that this winter will be worse than the last one (which I guess was the worst one in a long time). But my new comp is Elder Prestwich, he's been out here for a little over a year and he has been a great trainer so far! I feel like I am catching on to everything very fast. I am in the Rome area and we are reopening the area! It has been closed down for about 8 months because of the lack of elders. So we are pretty much starting from scratch. We have done mostly tracking,
Leaving Salt Lake City
everyone here has been pretty nice so far but......everyone is super freaking catholic. We have got to meet with some of the members for dinners and the zone leaders who are in Rome south area have let us tag along to a few lessons. The weather has been pretty good her. There are always the random heavy rain clouds, but it has been high 70's and pretty much perfect since I have been here. Our apartment is pretty nice. Besides the fact that we do not have any AC and we are on the top floor. We are picking up an AC unit at the office today, so that will make it sooooooo nice. We get to teach a girl tonight Emily, she has committed to be baptized on the 30th so we just have to get through all of the lessons with her before then. It has taken a little bit of work to get the ball rolling in the area but I have a good feeling that awesome things are going to start happening. I would be sending pics today but I kind of forgot my cord at the apartment so I will send some next week. I love and miss you all so much.

Sitting in the laundry room

Sunday walk at the MTC

We put him in the tub to see if he would grow but it didn't work!
I am currently sitting in the laundry room waiting for my clothes to wash haha. But my week has been great! We went through and learned how to teach all of the lessons in chapter 3 of pmg. I also got to teach an investigator named Thomas. We only got to meet with him for 3 days. The first day kinda sucked. He wouldn't talk about anything even religion related so we talked about skateboarding for 35 minutes. Luckily my comp skate boarded in high school so that helped a lot. The 2nd and 3rd time went much better. The 3rd time was the coolest thing that I have ever experienced!!! We were teaching him about the plan of salvation and the spirit was so strong! You could see it working in Thomas too! The craziest thing about it was while we were teaching it was like it wasn't me talking. I was pulling stuff out of nowhere and it was all stuff I would have never said by myself!! It was SOOOO awesome!! I hope every investigator goes like that haha I know it won't.....but I can still wish. I won't miss the MTC just my district. We have all become such good friends. I will be sending pics when I get to New York cause these computers suck. We have to wake up at 2:30am tomorrow and don't get to New York till 6 then we have an hour drive to the mission home. To say the least. tomorrow will be a very long day. But I am so ready to get out there.
